Crochet mitten ornament pattern

Materials and tools:

1. Sport weight/4ply yarn (50g/160m): YarnArt Jeans – red (90), furry yarn (50g/115m): Alize Baby Softy-white (55)
You can choose any yarn that is convenient for you, which matches with each other in thickness.
2. Hook suitable for your yarn (I used the hook size 1.75 mm)
3. White thread for embroidery
4. Scissors
5. Needle
6. Stitch marker or contrasting thread

Abbreviations:

MR-magic ring
sc-single crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec-decrease (2 sc together)
ch-chain
sl st -slip stitch
hdc-half double crochet
*6-number of repeats
(12) – total number of stitches in a round

Thumb

Crochet with red yarn:
1. 5 sc in a MR (5)
2. 5 inc (10)
3-5. 10 sc (3 rounds)
Fasten off, cut the yarn and weave in the yarn ends.

Start crocheting with red yarn:
1. 6 sc in a MR (6)
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1sc,inc)*6 (18)
4-8. 18 sc (5 rounds)

9. 6 sc on the base, 5 sc with one side of the thumb, 7 sc on the base (18)

Change the yarn to white, fasten off the red yarn.

Fasten off, cut the yarn and weave in the yarn ends.
Use white thread to embroider a snowflake as shown in the photo below.

If you wish, you can crochet the second mitten in the same way, but embroider the snowflake on the other side so that they are mirrored, like the real ones.
